A full node is a computer that contains a complete copy of the transaction history of the blockchain within a network. A full node can also verify whether the blockchain is valid and whether it complies with the consensus rules. As the size of the blockchain continues to increase, a full node will consume a lot of memory. Because of this, “light nodes” become a lightweight alternative to full nodes.
